Motivation is tricky, especially when pushing to hit targets, rallying teams, and creating a differentiated experience each year. Same program, same audience. How do you make it distinct?
In the world of corporate conventions, it is easy to fall into a comfortable rhythm. Most national conventions follow a predictable framework: a stage, a set of business presentations, and an energetic round of applause. But for GCash (Mynt, GCash’s parent company, is the first and only $5 billion double unicorn in the Philippines), a brand whose DNA is built on disrupting the status quo and championing Finance for All, “predictable” isn’t in their vocabulary.
Over the last three years, the GCash National Convention (NatCon) has evolved from a call to action into a full-scale immersive spectacle. Here’s how we leveled it up per year—one breakthrough at a time.
2024: Brave the Future
The Theme: Courageous Storytelling
To future-proof a fintech giant, you don’t just talk about tech, you talk about bravery. And to stand out among a sea of technological innovations, a change in perspective helped us propel this courage forward and manifest our first crack at reimagining the GCash NatCon. We veered away from fragmented, single-screen presentations and created a narrative-driven stage design.

The program was divided into chapters that articulated the story of bravery—Be Brave to Shape the Future, Be Brave to do the Right Thing, and culminating in Be Brave to do it All.


Even the performances were an inspiration to “Brave the Future.” From neon drumbeaters to SB19, every act was a cinematic experience, utilizing large-scale visuals and sensory immersion.
2025: Execute to Elevate
The Theme: Power of Collective Momentum
By 2025, the focus shifted from “what” we do to “how” we do it. The assignment: champion excellence and break the formula. Our strategy? Alter the energy of the room.

We designed the program as a gradual ascent, aligning with the “elevate” concept by intensifying energy levels alongside business updates and presentations.

Our breakthrough manifested in the “Commitment Progress Bar,” where the leadership team didn’t just give speeches; they declared tangible commitments that visually filled a digital progress bar on screen. This gamified “Executional Excellence,” turning a standard commitment setting into a collective victory that the entire room felt responsible for unlocking.
2026: World Class in Action
The Theme: The Stadium of Spectacles
Celebrating GCash’s double unicorn status came with the challenge of proving that a Filipino brand isn’t just “good enough,” it’s world-class. This inspired us to stop hosting a convention and start hosting a championship.

We transformed the venue into the GCash Stadium, an arena of excellence featuring heart-pounding beats from the UST Yellowjackets and two-time defending Philippine National Cheerleading Champions, the South Empire All Stars, performing high-impact stunts!

To truly break the mold, we veered away from the NatCon format entirely. For the first time, we built a real dug-out stage entrance for program reveals, making every speaker feel like an MVP entering the champions’ field. The entire day was made up of a series of spectacles, proving that when your mission is “Finance for All,” the stage should be nothing less than world-class.



The Secret Formula: Constant Evolution
Why does this matter? Because a team that sees its brand consistently outdo itself on the stage is a team that believes it can outdo itself in the market.
By shifting from Brave the Future (2024) to Execute to Elevate (2025) to World Class in Action (2026), GCash NatCons have successfully avoided “convention fatigue.” And to stay ahead, be willing to tear up the old formula and build something incomparable.
Because if the goal is to think outside the box, we have to start by changing the shape of the box we’re in.
